Lexington Chiropractor Dr. Leo Boisvert

Lexington Chiropractor, Dr. Leo BoisvertThe thought that went through my head when a friend suggested I see his chiropractor was, “Talk about gullible people!” Basically I thought, “How’s this quack gonna help when the “real doctors” haven’t been able to do anything for me?”

When I eventually went to see the chiropractor, he was able to help me with a condition that was difficult to define. Some told me I had narcolepsy; some thought it was a glucose metabolism issue, perhaps a completely neurological basis, perhaps endocrine. The bottom line is that no one in Northern Colorado had been able to help me (I lived in Fort Collins at the time). All I know is that I fell asleep all the time: in class, at the gym and, unfortunately, behind the wheel! Eighteen car accidents in a twelve-month period – I was going to die if I didn’t get help.

My experience with chiropractic was so powerful for me that I wanted to be able to share this gift with others.

After completing a BS in Economics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, I was accepted at New York Chiropractic College. During my four years at NYCC, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the public clinic. After graduating, I practiced for 10 years in the Pocono Mountain region of north eastern Pennsylvania. About two years ago, I moved to Lexington and have been at Malabu Family Chiropractic ever since!

I would describe myself as a “return-to-function” chiropractor. Most of my patients look forward to continued care in my practice and they don’t only come when they’re in pain. When a new patient comes through my door, my main goal is to have the patient consider me their chiropractor for as long as they live in the area. I tend to make care recommendations week by week if not visit by visit. During a visit to our office, you will frequently see me referring to your x-rays. I do this to help you understand what I am doing and to ensure that your adjustment is specific to your body.

I have three children: Lindsey (17), Leo (16), and Joshua (13). My daughter is a real horse person (we own a quarter horse), and I do some equine chiropractic as well. My sons and I enjoy hunting and fishing together as often as we can. I enjoy Civil War history books and movies. Time passes quickly if I’m reading my Bible or listening to or singing Christian songs of praise.

I get adjusted once or twice per month regardless of how I feel; more frequently if something is bothering me. My immediate family also gets adjusted very regularly. I take whole food supplements by Standard Process Laboratories and standardized herbal extracts by Medi Herb Inc. Our entire family exercises regularly, both aerobically and anaerobically.

I regularly lecture about the dangers of vaccinations. I praise conventional health care where I feel they do a good job, usually in crisis care management. I criticize the allopathic health model where I feel they come up short: in chronic disease management, for example.

I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below.
